Art Print Shop Launch!

The story behind the print shop…

While these photos were in actuality taken over the course of the last two years, it feels in many ways that they are the product of more than the last decade of dreaming. In 2010 after college, I moved back to the suburban home I grew up in to commute to Chicago for grad school for a year. During that time I fell in love with Chicago, and was determined to one day call it home.

It turned out that there would be a couple of detours along the way. I ended up living in both the south west and north west of the U.S. before finally returning to Chicago in 2015. In the time that I’ve lived in this city, I’ve come to appreciate all the little nooks and secrets she has to offer. Like the dappled light that hits brick buildings in the early fall mornings, or the beautiful symmetry of a perfectly lined up row of gray stones. In more recent years, I’ve come to appreciate all of the natural life the city has to offer, as I have further explored it with my small boys.

This gallery really is an homage to Chicago. All images are shot on 35 mm color film, which in so many ways is another culmination of the last decade.A medium that I have long admired, it felt appropriate that my love of Chicago was captured by my love of film. I hope you see a little bit of a city you love, through my lens.
